THE CAUSE

Goa Marathon is an annual event organized for the cause of Homes for the homeless and Hope for the hopeless children. It aims is to raise awareness of the need to alleviate the suffering of the homeless and street children. This is the Sixth Edition and it serves runners from all skill levels, from the first time marathoners to veteran runners and walkers. Funds raised through this event will be used to bring happiness and hope to the underprivileged children in Goa under the care of El Shaddai Charitable Trust.

The El Shaddai Charitable Trust is a registered, non-profit Charity working in Goa and other States in India, implementing the Child Rights Act 2003/05 for orphans, street children and children coming from economically and socially marginalised conditions. The children are cared for and provided with food, clothing, shelter and education, for a better future. El Shaddai runs residential Homes, Day Care Centres and Community Centres. El Shaddai also runs cottages for children who have been with us and now attending University, Colleges, Technical Institutions and Professional Meals on Wheels, - Manna Khana free food distribution programme is implemented on week days. Manna Khanna is a takeaway packet that is provided for around 275 poor, needy children and adults living on the streets in Goa. The slum schools and the slum outreach programme provide educational facilities and Community health camps for the children and women. In addition, El Shaddai also implements outreach projects in the States of Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Kerala.
